Four Month Check-up

Yes, Grace is 4 months old as of August 17th- it is crazy how fast time flies by. I remember when other parents would tell me, oh, just wait, time flies when you have a baby, and I should have listened! The saying that "time flies when you are having fun" could not be more true then when it comes to having Grace as a new addition to our family. She makes us laugh everyday, and the things that were so overwhelming as new parents are just normal events of our everyday life. I remember Grace's first bath, Pat and I were so scared we would hurt her and get water in her eyes. Now Pat and I walk out of the bathroom after bath time just as wet as Grace is, and Grace splashes water in her own eyes and giggles! I also remember Pat changing his first official diaper and she peed on the changing pad- he was so upset that he had done something wrong! Now we both know that getting peed on is a right of passage for new parents, and we have definitely earned our points in this area! Life has just began for Grace, but so much has happened in 4 months I can not even imagine how many memories we will have to share when she is 1!

Grace's check-up went great- she is 14 lbs. 4 oz and 26 inches long- very long! She is in the 75th percentile for weight and the 97th percentile for height- the doctor said he thinks she will be very tall and slim- unlike her mom! She got 4 more shots, which seem to hurt me more than her, but she handled it like a trooper and slept most of the day. We were also asked by the doctor and nurse where she gets her beautiful red hair, and as usual, we have to answer with "We have no idea!" Here is a pic of Grace after her shots- Pat said she had football player thighs because they were so swollen:
