Well, Grace turned the big number 1 on last Thursday and it was the best day. The weather was great, she was in a great mood, and we got to spend half the day with Patrick which was an extra fun surprise! Grace and I spent the morning playing, went to the mall to play in the play area (which Grace loves), and then spent the afternoon playing outside. After a much needed nap before dinner, my parents showed up to give Grace some birthday love. Pat and I gave Grace a wagon for her birthday (the deluxe family version, trust me, this was Pat's pick not mine!), so we decided to take a little trip in the wagon to the ice cream place down the road, where Grace enjoyed her first try at ice cream, yummy and messy! Here are some pictures from the fun:
On Friday afternoon we went out to dinner for Stephanie's birthday and it was so much fun! I will just say that a prank was played on Steph, it was very funny, and she took it like a champ! That is one of the reasons why I love my cousin so much! Here are some pictures from that eventful night!
Saturday was a busy day, Grace was not feeling 100%, but we did have a couple visitors and were pretty busy all day. We chalked it up to teething and a small cold. Aunt Dawn and Rodney came for a visit, and Andrea and Hannah also stopped in to say hi and play in Grace's new turtle sandbox that she received from Grandpa Craig and Grandma Cathy. Here are some pictures of the fun:
Saturday night and early Sunday morning were very eventful, but not in a good way! After Grace woke up numerous times between 8pm and 12am with a horrible cough and a fever, we decided to take her to the ER to be safe. After two hours, we were told that our little one had croup on the day of her birthday party and that no children under 5 should come to be safe! Needless to say, we felt very bad for our sick little girl and also were very disappointed that no children could be at the party. The party went on with a sometimes very sad Grace and at other times a very happy Grace. Here are some pictures from the birthday party:
Well, if you made it through all of this post and all of the pictures (I warned you there were a lot of pictures), I appreciate it! We thank everyone for all of the birthday wishes and hope that Grace will feel better for her second birthday!

I don't think Addie would ever wear a headband!
Great pics! Avery had ice cream for the first time last week, and yes, very messy!
