It's a wonderful life.... (Part 1)

The holidays this year were busy, as usual, and very full of parties and presents. I have to say the best parts of this Christmas were starting new traditions with Miss Grace, teaching her the true meaning of the holiday through books, and seeing her face light up when we she saw the Christmas tree and all of her presents on Christmas morning.

We spent Christmas Eve morning at the mall, where Grace got to meet Santa Claus again. She was excited until the moment I set her down on his lap. The following picture was taken seconds after I set her down, some people say it is hilarious, other say it is cruel, but all in all, it is definitely a picture we will look back at with Grace when she is older and laugh.

We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and decided to make cookies and decorate them. Grace LOVED this, we made a huge mess, and it was my favorite night of 2008 by far. I have never laughed so much or loved my family more. Here are some pictures from the fun:

Christmas morning was fun but we were all a little tired from staying up late the night before. We opened gifts, played for a little while, and then all took a 2 hour nap! The best way to start the day. Grace received a lot of goodies but her favorite was definitely a new train table that Pat and I stayed up until 1:30am putting together. Nothing like the last minute!

Christmas afternoon was spent with Pat's parents, eating, playing cards while Grace took a second nap, and playing with Grace's new Christmas presents. It was a very relaxing end to the day.

It is almost time to kiss my husband and yell "Happy New Years" so I will have to continue this blog entry tomorrow night with our stories from Christmas Up North.

Happy New Years and I hope everyone has a great start to 2009!
