Is the grass really greener?

I am sure you have heard the saying "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." I have been known to fall into the trap of this quote sometimes. Lately it has been a lot easier to put this in perspective.

Does having more money make life better? Does being skinnier make you happy?

I have to say I always thought the answer to the above two questions was yes. I am starting to realize this is not the case. Life is what you make of it. Enjoying your family, being proud of the person you are, and putting faith in God are three things I value more than the above two questions.

I feel lucky to have a family that loves me, a beautiful daughter who makes me smile everyday, and a husband who is supportive and loving. Does that mean my life is perfect? No, but I definitely would not trade it with the person next door who has a larger bank account or smaller jean size. I thank God everyday for the life he has given me and I can only hope that I deserve it.
