Our first real Christmas event was up north the weekend of December 19th. We had the plan of going up Friday to my parents' place, go to my Grandma Rose's place on Saturday to open gifts and visit with family, and then go to my Grandpa and Grandma Lyons' farm on Sunday to visit. Unfortunately, Gracie started feeling ill Saturday night and we headed home early Sunday.
A visit to urgent care that night confirmed that Grace had croup and after a steroid shot, she started to feel better. The whole weekend was a blast, minus Grace getting sick, and we spent Saturday morning sledding with Nick, Ash, and Maizey, and had a great time with family on Saturday afternoon and enjoyed tons of yummy food. Grace enjoyed following around her friend, Jayne, and we appreciated Jayne playing with Grace so we could visit.
On Christmas Eve, we had the Roth family over for food and more gift opening. The girls looked adorable and had a blast together! Gracie got a new bike from Grandpa Tom and Grandma Pam and loved riding it around the house.
On Christmas Eve afternoon, we had both sets of grandparents over and got to reveal Grace's new big girl room! It was so much fun having all of them there and the reveal was great. We got to visit and relax before Pam and Tom headed home.
Christmas morning was with my parents and Grace got her new art desk and a ton of fun gifts from Santa. We just relaxed all day and Grace played with her new toys.
The final of the Christmas events for this week was the day after Christmas when Nick, Ash, and Maizey came over to celebrate. We opened gifts and then the girls went to go get a pedicure, which was part of my mom's gift from us. She needs pretty toes for her time in Florida! After our pedicure, we had a great lunch and played some Apples to Apples, which dad finally won. Grace loved her pink pony named Kara from Uncle and Ashley and the rest of us got some great gifts!
Whew!!! If you got through this post, I give you credit! We have one more holiday event, Christmas BINGO with Pat's family in Ohio, and then it is back to work for us on the 4th. I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday with their families and got the chance to rejoice over the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ.
