Visit to the zoo? Check!
Fishing trip with dad and Gary? Check! (Ok, this was only on Pat's checklist, but it is done!)
We had a fantastic weekend last weekend and were able to check off a couple things we had wanted to do this summer. We went to the beach on Saturday, which was a short visit, but it was very fun! Grace loves the water, giggled every time a wave hit her, and got tons of sand on and in her bathing suit! All in all, it was a very successful trip to the beach. No pictures but just envision Grace in a bathing suit on the beach and you get the picture!
Pat got up at 4am on Sunday morning (yes, 4am, and I think he is crazy!) to go fishing with his dad and friend, Gary, on Lake Michigan. They had a good time, the water was a little rough, so had to quit a little early. They did catch one fish and enjoyed a meal of fish at 10am. Not my idea of fun, but they had a great time, so that is all that matters! Here are some pictures that Gary took that morning, the sunrise was beautiful!
We then went to the zoo on Sunday afternoon, the weather was perfect, cool and sunny. We spent a lot of time on birds, the petting zoo, reptiles and monkeys. Grace was very interested in a bird that "talked" to her and she had a nice conversation with the bird. She loved the goats at the petting zoo, she followed a white one around and did not want to leave. She is fascinated by turtles and kept repeating the word "tuttle" over and over after we left. Finally, we went to go see the monkeys after a short break and snack and she giggled a lot. I have admit going to the zoo with a little one for the first time is so much fun, their excitement and interest is never ending and it just gives me so much joy! We may try to go back one more time this summer and will definitely be getting the pass for next summer! Here are some pictures from our day at the zoo, enjoy!

What a face! We loved this monkey, he was so mean looking!***In case anyone was wondering about the shiner, Grace got a block thrown at her at daycare and it hit her right in the eye. She ended up with a black eye that has now healed nicely! Oh the adventures of being a child!

Looks like she had fun at the zoo! The pic of her petting the goat is so cute! I'm hoping we can make it there at least one more time this year.
