Playing catch up

I have been slacking a little on the blogging, life has been a little busy lately. Between school, work, planning household improvements, and getting ready for Pat to go to California this week for work, out life has been packed with stuff to do! Decided I would try to play catch up tonight since Pat is watching football and I finally finished my 130 pages of reading for class tomorrow that I put off until tonight! Oh, it feels just like being full time in college again and I only have one class!

School is going good, Pat and I are getting into the swing of things. I really enjoyed my first class, my boss at work (Director of Housing) is my professor and he is really good. (and I am really not just saying that because he is my boss) It felt so good to be in a classroom surrounded by adults and discuss our thoughts and ideas on education. I am so glad I made this decision to start back up again, it is one night a week, and I think it is a great class to start with. Pat is doing everything online so it is a little different for him. He is planning on doing a weekly stay at work late on Tuesday study session with his co worker so he can stay on top of things.

To recap the last two weeks, I will start with our visit up north Labor Day weekend. It was a beautiful weekend, kind of hot, but we really enjoyed my parents' air conditioned house! We had a great visit with my parents, both sets of great grandparents, and two of my best friends from high school, Sharlene and Gina. Grace went on her first boat ride and also went on a ride in my Grandpa George's Model A. We were sad to go home but at the same time happy to get back to see the puppies and sleep in our own beds! We got back on Monday (Labor Day) around noon and Pat's parents called and offered to take Grace for the afternoon- yes! We could have a quiet dinner together and get grocery shopping done quickly- talk about a great date! Grace got to have dinner with her grandparents and go to Build a Bear to get a new bear! Lets just say Grace was very spoiled that Labor Day weekend, that is for sure! Here are a couple pictures of Grace Marie with her new Bear- she was being a pain so it took a couple times!


To end since I am getting very sleepy, I will just say that Grace has been entertaining but also a little challenging lately. The word "no" is showing up frequently and we are having to do time outs/breaks more often because of behavior. Pat is gone this next week and I think it will be very interesting to see how Grace will react to this. I have to admit Pat is a lot stricter with Grace regarding behavior so I may have a little trouble on my hands! Wish me luck!
